What makes fiction Christian?

I’m a Christian. I also love to write short fiction. Though I wouldn’t call my writing profane, I’m not so sure I can call it Christian fiction. What is the difference between Christian fiction and fiction written by a Christian person? Or does fiction written by a Christian person, make the fiction Christian fiction? (Whew!)

Best and Worst Christian Fiction?

Anyone care to nominate the Best or Worst piece of Christian literature they’ve come across. I mean novels primarily so no gags about the Bible or Quran etc being fiction please! You can nominate poets and poetry too! For best writers I would like to nominate Bunyan for Pilgrim’s Progess and Donne’s Sonnets. For worst any of Tim La Hayes books which is so badly written they make Clive Cussler’s adventure thrillers look like Nobel Prize material. (much as I enjoy Clive Cussler’s works for LIGHT reading they are definitely not spiritual!)
